IOWA CONGRESSMAN JIM NUSSLE AND TWO OTHER CONGRESSMAN ARE RE-INTRODUCING A BILL INTENDED TO REFORM THE FEDERAL BUDGETING PROCESS. NUSSLE, AREPUBLICAN FROM MANCHESTER, SAYS THE BILL WOULD PREVENT SUCH THINGS AS GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWNS AND LAST MINUTE BUDGET DEALS. NUSSLE SAYS THEY TALKED ABOUT THE BILL LAST YEAR IN A REPORT FOR CONGRESS,BUT DECIDED NOT TO PUSH THE ISSUE IN THE “POISON WATER” MOOD SURROUNDING THE IMPEACHMENT PROCESS. NUSSLE FEELS GOOD ABOUT THE BILL MOVING FORWARD WITH BIPARTISIAN SUPPORT. HE SAYS THE BILL SHOULD MOVE TO THE FLOOR OF THE FULL HOUSE FOR CONSIDERATION SOMETIME IN JUNE. CONGRESSMEN BEN CARDIN OF MARYLAND AND PORTER GOSS OF FLORIDA ARE THE BILL’S OTHER CO-SPONSORS.
