Mason City school officials are getting some heat for how they handled a bomb threat at Mason City High yesterday. Students were told there were electrical problems and evacuated from the building. Superintendent Dr. David Darnell says he’s getting phone calls from parents who believe the kids should have been warned about the bomb threat. Dr. Darnell says the school is constantly reviewing policies and proceedures. Darnell hopes students will learn to respect one another. Fourteen-year-old Jason Green was arrested around three P-M Thursday. Green allegedly told several students he had placed a bomb in the school that would go off after school. Green has been charged with making a bomb threat. If tried as an adult and convicted, he could receive a sentence of up to five years in prison.
