Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is proposing a bill that cuts taxes by100-million dollars over the next five years. Grassley says his bill would do away with the so-called marriage penaltythat forces married couples to pay more taxes than two single people.He says the plan would help ensure quality health care.Grassley says taxes are at the highest point ever and he says that canactually hurt the economy.Grassley says the bill would also help farmers survive price fluctuationsby allowing them to put away 20-percent of their income in a farmer savingsaccount. Farmers could draw on the account in low income years and bebetter able to manage their income.
