You have just over a month to enter the first Iowa Downtown Photo contest.The contest is sponsored by the Iowa Department of Economic Development’sMain Street Iowa program. Spokesperson Jane Seaton says the idea is to showoff Iowa’s downtown areas.The pictures of your downtown must have been taken between January 1st 1997and the entry deadline of July 9th of this year. The winners will beannounced at the 13th annual downtown conference in Atlantic on August 24th.Seaton says they hope the contest will let people see something new in theircommunity.Entries are available by contacting the Iowa Department of EconomicDevelopment or at their website at:www.state.ia.us/ided/crd/mainstreet/new.html.
