NATO officials called off the bombing runs in Yugoslavia today sayingthey’ve verified Yugoslavia is serious about pulling out of Kosovo. IowaCongressman Jim Leach says it’s good to get a peace agreement, but he saysthat’s just a start as U-S troops will likely be involved for several monthsin the peacekeeping.Leach says another unknown is how much it will cost the U-S to keep thepeace in Kosovo. Leach, a republican from Davenport, believes Congress will back the peaceagreement in the short term.Leach says the effect of the actions in Kosovo and Serbia could have moreimportant consequences in other parts of the world, such as China andRussia.Leach says the future of Yugoslavian president Slobodan Milosevic is unknown.He believes Milosevic will have a hard time surviving.
