A valuable, one-of-its-kind stained-glass window stolen from a Quad Citycemetery more than 20 years ago is finally home. The large window depicts a serene river flowing through a beautifullandscape. It was made by Tiffany in the 1890s and was pryed out of themausoleum by thieves with crowbars. It was tracked over the decades throughcollectors, museums and law officers.Davenport Museum of Art curator Michelle Robinson says the Denkmann familyof Rock Island, Illinois, is giving the window to the museum on what’scalled a permanent loan. She says it was recovered in remarkable condition,given its age and the mileage on it.The 40-by-50-inch window will be set in a light box to illuminate itscolorful panels. Robinson says it hasn’t been appraised recently but saysthe window may be worth more than 400-thousand dollars.
