Iowa Valley seeks success in new class

The Iowa Valley of Marengo high school baseball team is off to a good startto the season and ranked second in class 1A. Coach Scott Hardie says histeam had lofty goals coming into this year after after making the class 2Astate tournament field a year ago.Hardie says playing in the state tournament a year ago will be a benefitthis season.With six starters back it is an experienced team and Hardie says the top twopitchers are seniors.Iowa Valley has already played teams like class 2A Benton and Hardie saysthat kind of competition is good for his team.
