There aren’t enough Iowa teens to fill part-time and seasonal jobs around the state. Iowa Workforce Development spokesman Bret Voorhees (vor-heez) says Iowabusinesses can’t find people to fill seasonal and part-time jobs.Voorhees says 70 percent of Iowa teens already have a job — that’s wayabove the national average of 50 percent. Voorheese says jobs which pay themost get filled.Voorhees says both Adventureland and Hy-Vee are large employers of Iowateens. Adventureland Communications Director Ryan Sullivan says theiremployees are attracted to the option of only working during the summer.Sullivan doubts raising the minimum wage will help the amusement park dealwith a constant shortage of employees.
