Another group of Kosovar refugees is expected to arrive in Central Iowa assoon as today. The group is destined for the small Greene County town ofJefferson, where community leaders say they’ll be able to handle 40 to 50refugees in the coming weeks.Wayne Johnson, chief of the Iowa Bureau of Refugee Services, says 13refugees from the Balkan war are already in the Des Moines area and 22arrived in the Quad Cities last week. Despite the peace agreement, Johnsonsays thousands of refugees are still waiting at Fort Dix, New Jersey.Johnson says it’s unclear whether still more refugees will try to leaveMacedonia to come to America.Another 40 refugees are expected to arrive in the Quad Cities soon.
