The Iowa Peace Corps Association stages its annual meeting this Saturday ata state park near Hampton. Association President Paul Dewey says at leastseven-hundred Iowans have served overseas in the Peace Corps.On Saturday morning as a service project, the former Peace Corps Volunteerswill do landscaping at Beeds Lake State Park, using original landscapeblueprints for the Civilian Conservation Corps project.Dewey says the group’s keynote speaker will be Iowa Department of NaturalResources Director Paul Johnson, who was a Peace Corps volunteer in Ghana.Johnson has been a farmer in Decorah, a state legislator and served a stintas Chief of the U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation Service in Washington, D.C.
