The weekly Iowa crop and weather report chronicles the frustrations of somefarmers who suffered hail and flood damage this past week. Softball-sized hail near Casey in Guthrie County was the largest reportedfrom last Friday’s storms, which also dumped torrential rain. The wetweather is a concern for farmers who spray fields and cultivate crops duringthis period of the growing season. Some corn and soybean fields which hadbeen re-planted in June were drowned out again last Friday and some farmersreport yellowed plants in their fields due to the moisture.
