A Mason City policeman has resigned after a weeklong investigation of what’sdescribed as inappropriate use of police station computers for the postingpersonal & explicit material. Mayor Bill Schickel says the matter is beingresolved.Mason City’s Police Chief says Sergeant A-J Gilbert resigned Wednesday forpersonal & professional reasons. He’d been on the force more than seven yearsand served in various command and training roles. Mayor Schickel says theexplicit material has been taken off of the internet.Schickel says the chief is also developing a formal policy for the use ofthe department’s internet computer system.
