ISU signs junior college players

After finishing last in the Big 12 Conference, the Iowa State Baseball Teamis banking on a bumper crop of Junior College Transfers to give the programa boost. The Cyclones signed 9 JUCO’s. Iowa Sate Coach Lyle Smith hopesthis class will make them competitive in the Big 12 Conference.Out of the players signed, nine of them are from the West Coast includingseven from California. Smith says most of them are impact players.West Des Moines Dowling’s Lincoln Mincks (minks) is the lone player signedfrom the state of Iowa. The Cyclones finished 2-28 in the Big 12 lastseason.
