Iowa State University will help develop high-tech food for future spacemissions. NASA is giving I-S-U two-point-eight million dollars for planningand operating the National Food Technology Commercial Space Center. NASAspokesman Guy Fogelman says ISU will help develop better food for astronautson the international space station.Fogelman says they eventually want to be able to produce food in space.Ten companies will partner with ISU in the food development effort. Thosecompanies will provide an additional one-million dollars along with thefive-year NASA funding.
