A republican-sponsored tax cut plan is expected to pass in the U-S Housetoday, with the full backing of Iowa Congressman Tom Latham. The 5thDistrict republican says there’ll be a three-trillion dollar surplus in adecade. Two-trillion will go Social Security & Medicare and Latham says muchof the remainder should go back to the taxpayers.Latham says the tax cut package contains a measure that follows a bill heauthored that would boost the annual deposit amount allowed in educationalsavings accounts from 500 to two-thousand dollars.President Clinton says he’s prepared to veto the 792-Billion dollar taxreduction package.
