Former New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley says he’s entering a “new phase” inhis campaign to wrest the democrat party’s presidential nomination from AlGore. Bradley officially opened his Iowa headquarters yesterday, tellingreporters his race with Gore is “very competitive” — as Bradley enters whathe calls the “comparative” phase.Bradley last week called for campaign finance reform, including an end to”soft money” contributions to the political parties.Bradley says competition makes American companies better — so his primarybattle against Gore should push both to be better candidates.
