One of the region’s largest ice makers says this is “crisis management”time. Dave Krieg of Krieg Brothers directs distribution of the company’sice in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.Kreig says 20 percent of packed ice sales occur from July 1st to July 20th. His company hasn’t stepped up production during this heat wave.Kreig says keeping the ice frozen isn’t that big a deal with theirice-making plant and refrigerated trucks.Kreig says the only problem has been that his employees have to make longerstops to fill depleted ice chests, and “there are only so many hours in theday.”
