Iowa State University football coach Dan McCarney says one of his toprecruits still has a chance to play for the Cyclones. Jason Davis failed toget a qualifying score on ACT test to get into I-S-U and Tuesday said hewould enroll at division two Wingate college. But McCarney says that’s notwhat’s going to happen. McCarney says Davis will study with tutors and tryagain to get a qualifying score. Davis is the brother of former I-S-Ustandout Troy Davis and current I-S-U senior Darren Davis. McCarney saysthe loss of Jason Davis this season won’t hurt the Cyclone offense.Davis could enroll at I-S-U in January if he is able to take the test againand get a qualifying score. He would then be able to play football nextfall.
