Anyone driving to Des Moines for the Iowa State Fair over the next fewweeks had better mind the rules of the road. All 13 law enforcement agenciesin Polk County are banding together for a Special Traffic Enforcement Programto crack down any motorists who aren’t following the laws.Sergeant John Brodersen of the Clive Police Department says the streets willbe filling up with more cars and trucks, many of them driven by people whoaren’t familiar with the capitol city area.Brodersen says it’s important that people drive with caution and stay alert.While focusing on people who aren’t using their seat belts, those who don’thave children properly secured and drivers who are venting road rage,Brodersen says they’ll also be hunting down & ticketing drivers who don’tuse their turn signals. The State Fair attracts nearly one million visitorsto Iowa’s capital city.
