Iowans are being invited to share their “big ideas” with a state committeewhich is developing an “Iowa 2010” game plan. David Oman, a republican whoran for Governor in 1998, was appointed by democrat Governor Tom Vilsack tolead the effort.State Fair-goers can pick up a pre-paid post card to mail in their ideas forthe state’s future. If you have access to the Internet, you can e-mailsuggestions to ideas-at-iowa-twenty-ten-dot-org ([email protected]).There’s a toll-free phone number, too. It’s 877-342-2010. Later this fall,the committee will hold “town meetings” at each of Iowa’s 15 communitycolleges.The “Iowa 2010” project has six, full-time employees. Oman says the grouphas begun raising half-a-million dollars from Iowa businesses to support theeffort. Oman says there’s no idea that’s too big or too small, and he promises thecommittee will look at every idea submitted.
