Iowans are being invited to share their “big ideas” with a state committeewhich is developing an “Iowa 2010” game plan. David Oman, a republican whoran for Governor in 1998, was appointed by democrat Governor Tom Vilsack tolead the effort.State Fair-goers can pick up a pre-paid post card to mail in their ideas forthe state’s future. Later this fall,the committee will hold “town meetings” at each of Iowa’s 15 communitycolleges.The “Iowa 2010” project has six, full-time employees. Oman says the grouphas begun raising half-a-million dollars from Iowa businesses to support theeffort. Oman says there’s no idea that’s too big or too small, and he promises thecommittee will look at every idea submitted.
