A group of Delaware County farmers is trying to cut out the middle man bytaking their meat products directly to the locker and grocery store. The 12farmers have formed an entity called Delaware County Meats. FarmerDave Kronlage says they made the move to try and make theirfarms more profitable. He says they’ve developed 12 products they take directly to a Manchestersupermarket.Kronlage says they want to carefully monitor their progress before expandingthe northeast Iowa operation. Kronlage says the new business is a good example of “value added”agriculture.
