The Internal Revenue Service is giving a break to Iowans who’ve sufferedflood or storm damage. IRS spokesman Ted Reis (rice) says the IRS is giving taxpayers in the 18Iowa counties declared federal disaster areas an extension for filingfederal tax returns.Reis says you should make a note at the top of your return to alert IRSofficials of your eligibility for the extension.Reis says the extension will give victims a chance to find the informationthat may have been destroyed in the flooding or storms.The counties declared federal disaster areas are: Black Hawk, Bremer,Buchanan, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, dubuque,Fayette, Floyd, Harrison, Howard, Jones, Linn, Mitchell, Woodbury and Worth.
