Corn growers from across Iowa will gather for what’s called a “field day” inGreene County this morning near the town of Jefferson. It’s a chance forfarmers to learn about new techniques — in the field.Rich Porter is research & regulatory issues manager of the Iowa Corn GrowersAssociation. He says one key study on nitrogen will be discussed that wasdone by Iowa State University inventor Dr. Alfred Blackmer.Porter says the field day isn’t restricted to just corn growers.The field day is on the farm of Jim Andrew and will focus on a 60-acredemonstration site that’s in the heart of the Raccoon River watershed.Registration is at 11 a-m.
