The efforts to improve the water quality in Clear Lake continue this weekwith the kill off of fish in adjoining Ventura Marsh. Iowa Department ofNatural Resources spokesman Jim Wahl says the fish kill is needed to keepthe water running through the marsh clean.Wahl says they’ve already harvest 15-thousand pounds of dead fish from themarsh.He says they will stock northern pike in the marsh to get rid of any newcarp or bullheads. Wahl says the dead fish are being taken to a landfill. Any fish notrecovered from the marsh will naturally decompose.
