A Dubuque native whose state department career took him around the globe isreturning to Iowa to head the World Food Prize Foundation. Fifty-seven year old Dr. Kenneth Quinn will become executive director of theWorld Food Prize Foundation in January. The annual “World Food Prize”honors individuals for their work in expanding or improving the world’sfood supply. Quinn was raised in Dubuque and graduated from Loras College. He holds advanced degrees from Marquette and the University of Maryland. Quinn has been U-S Ambassador to Cambodia since January of 1996, butresigned this year. Quinn was once an aide to Iowa Governor Bob Ray and ledefforts to welcome Vietnamese and Laotians to Iowa in the 1970s.
