U-S Senate Democrats today called on the Republican leadership to providemore money and move forward the bill funding education. Iowa Senator TomHarkin spoke at the news conference in Washington, D.C. Harkin saysrepublicans have completed the work on 12 other appropriations bills.Harkin says the only time republicans do any work on education, they takemoney away.Democrats say republicans have cut five-point-six-billion dollars from theeducation budget under works in the senate education subcommittee.
