Harkin sends staff member to check on Iowan

One of Iowa Senator Tom Harkin’s staff members is leaving tomorrow for theformer Soviet Union to check on the welfare of a former Iowan being held inthe Republic of Georgia. Harkin says Loren Wille was involved in a caraccident that killed a Georgian national. Harkin says he wants to be sureWille gets a fair trial.Harkin aide Sarah Dietch is from Conrad & is scheduled to be overseas abouta week. Wille originally lived in the Cedar Rapids area & still has familythere. He was in Georgia working for Catholic Relief Services.
