Confusion is surfacing over two similar forms grain farmers are asked to present upon delivering their products to elevators. The Iowa Attorney General’s Farm Division put out a form last month to deal with concerns over genetically-modified or G-M-O corn & soybeans. Now, a nearly-identical form has appeared from the Iowa Agribusiness Association. Assistant Attorney General Steve Moline says the forms from the agribusiness group contain a clause that could hold the producer responsible for “any and all liabilities” that could arise later regarding the grain. Moline says his office is trying to clear up the confusion. Farmers can log on to the internet at “www.iowagrain.org” to obtain the form developed by the Attorney General’s Office.
