The Davenport man accused of killing the three-year-old daughter of hisex-fiance is now blasting the media. In a letter from jail to a Quad City newspaper, Eugene Smith says the mediais being the judge and executioner in the kidnapping and murder case. Smithsays he can’t get a fair trial as the media is influencing spectators andwitnesses. Smith was arrested in Colorado last month. The Bettendorf girl’sbody was found in Smith’s car, abandoned in the Illinois Quad Cities.
