The Iowa Highway Patrol is launching a special enforcement program thatfocuses on license plates. Sergeant Mark Shumacher says the most commonviolation is Iowans who don’t have two license plates displayed.Sergeant Shumacher says license plate frames are -generally- legal but canpose a problem if they cover up numbers or other information on the plate.Fines range from five to 20 dollars, depending on the violation. The latesttrooper sweep of license plates targets the following counties: Winnebago,Hancock, Worth, Cerro Gordo, Mitchell, Floyd, Howard & Chickasaw.
