The Senate Majority Leader again today called on Governor Vilsack to rethinkan executive order he issued that is intended to prohibit discrimination.Senator Stewart Iverson, a republican from Dows, says he has a problem withthe area that involved gender identity.Iverson says Iowa is the only state in the nation that prohibitsdiscrimination based on gender identity. He says allowing cross dressing inthe work place will create problems. Iverson says he doesn’t believe hewould be accepted very well in the senate chamber if he showed up wearing adress.Iverson says if the Governor does not repeal the executive order, therepublican caucus will consider legislation to overrule it.
