Money to fund a third year of operation for the Iowa MethamphetamineTraining Center in Sioux City is moving its way through Congress. The centerrun by the Sioux City Police Department serves officers in Iowa, Nebraskaand South Dakota. Joe Durham the center’s training coordinator says it’s setto get one-point-two million dollars in federal funding this year. Durhamsays the money is important in helping small agencies afford the training.Durham says three-thousand officers have gone through training at thecenter. That includes officers from Storm Lake, Okoboji, Spencer, Carroll,Orange City, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Cherokee, Estherville, Fort Dodge,Algona and Rockwell City.
