The U-S House passed a bill today which allows doctors to prescribe largedoses of pain medication to dying patients — but doesn’t let them make thedecision to kill the patient. Some representatives argued the bill willlet a doctor help assist in the death of a patient. Congressman Greg Ganske,a plastic surgeon, supported the bill and says it does NOT let doctors takepatients lives.Ganske, a republican, says the bill allows doctors to help patients dealwith pain. He says the pain and suicide issues are not linked.Ganske made his comments on the House floor during the debate.
