The manager of Iowa’s largest tattoo shop says more and more customers are choosing ancient symbols rather than traditional tatoos in the shape of a heart or featuring the name of a girlfriend. Mark Ramos says Native American tribal symbols have become quite popular in his Ames tattoo parlor.Professional athletes, including the World Wrestling Federation star known as “Goldberg,” are sporting tribal symbols on their biceps, and Ramos believes that’s one reason for the popularity of the ancient marks.Prices at his shop for the tribal tattoo markings range from one hundred dollars up to five-hundred dollars, depending on the its size.
