Journalist and breast cancer survivor Linda Ellerbee was the keynote speaker today at the “Governor’s Conference on Mature Women’s Health” in Des Moines. Ellerbee says remaining silent about her battle with breast cancer is unthinkable.Ellerbee says women are begining to take charge of their health and the conference in Des Moines is evidence of that.Tipper Gore, the wife of Vice President Al Gore, is addressing the conference today on mental health issues. The conference is hosted by Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack and Barbara Grassley, the wife of Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley.
