State officials gather for annual meeting

Iowans may find that several of their county officials aren’t at the courthouse today. Many of them are in Des Moines for the annual convention of the Iowa State Association of Counties. Tricia Frazine (frah-ZEE-nee) is spokeswoman for the group and says county leaders are interested in what state legislators will be doing in terms of taxation & spending limits.Frazine expects about a thousand county officials from Iowa’s 99 counties to be in Des Moines for the convention, which ends today.
