Few men can truthfully say they were played by Robert Redford on the big screen, but a well-known journalist speaking in eastern Iowa tonight can make the boast. Bob Woodward is lecturing at the University of Iowa, according to lecture committee events coordinator Chris Logli.Woodward and fellow Washington Post reporter Carl Bernstein earned the Pulitzer in 1973 for their investigative reports about the 1972 break-in at the Watergate Hotel — which eventually toppled a President. Logli says Woodward is now the managing editor of investigative news on The Post.Woodward is also an author and has had seven number-one best-sellers in the non-fiction category. Logli says some of tonight’s speech will likely revolve around Woodward’s latest book, “Shadow: Five Presidents and the Legacy of Watergate”.Woodward’s best-known book, “All the President’s Men,” was made into a movie, which starred Robert Redford as Woodward. Tonight’s 7:30 lecture is free at the U-of-I Memorial Union Main Lounge.
