The investigation into a deadly gas pipeline rupture earlier this month near Oelwein is complete.The accident happened three miles north of Oelwein after a tiling crew struck the line. The pipe ruptured as it was being inspected, killing 41-year-old Daniel Reedy of La Porte City. Reedy was thrown over 50 feet and died of a broken neck. Another man was injured. The U-S Department of Transportation Office of Pipeline Safety is handling the investigation and says it could be up to three months before they release their report.
