Governor Tom Vilsack says despite the protests, there are some positive things going on at the World Trade Organization Talks in Seattle. He says there were several small group meetings that led to some progress.Vilsack says the agriculture issues pushed by Iowans will get center stage today.Vilsack says European subsidies of agriculture have already been discussed. He says the U-S has support in wanting to reduce those subsidies.He says the Europeans have tried to inject animal welfare standards into the talks, something that could slow things down.Vilsack is one of several Iowa political leaders attending the W-T-O talks.
