Democrat presidential candidate Bill Bradley says his opponent, Al Gore, is engaging in “scare tactics” to distort Bradley’s proposals on health care and taxes. During a news conference in Cedar Rapids, Bradley said Gore is telling falsehoods.Bradley also complained about Gore’s attacks on health care reform. Bradley says his plan will not hurt the poor and weaken nursing home standards as claimed by Gore. Bradley says the Vice President is trying to distract voters from the shortcomings of his own health care proposal. Bradley says his plan covers all children, broadens access and helps Americans pay for health insurance. He says Gore’s plan doesn’t do any of this. In an attack on the V-P, Bradley says Gore’s health care plan does not uphold traditional democratic party values of healthcare for all Americans. Bradley says he regrets Gore has walked away from that fundumental democratic principle.Bradley meets with union workers tonight in Cedar Rapids.
