A Mason City Agency that helps the elderly has won a national award.The Elderbridge Agency on Aging won the award for excellence from the U-S and Federal Committee for the International Year of Older Persons for a program that provides cell phones to the elderly. The cell phones are programmed to automatically call emergency numbers when needed. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley also won an award for his work as the chairman of the Senate Special Committe on Aging.
