More and more Iowans are doing their holiday shopping via the Internet. A spokesman for the Iowa Attorney General’s office, Bob Brammer, says you should follow some of the same rules for internet shopping that you do for any other purchases, know who you are dealing with and don’t give out critical information unless you do.Brammer says most internet sites have little icons of a locked padlock or unbroken key to let you know the site’s secure. He says using your credit card is the safest way to buy on-lineBrammer says you should keep a close eye on your bill for any incorrect charges and don’t pay until you can resolve the situation. Brammer says it’s also important to check out the return and gift certificate policies if you’re shopping via a catalogue or store website.
