A survey of Iowans who’re members of the American Association of Retired Persons found the group believes the future of the Social Security system to be the most important issue facing the nation. A-A-R-P spokeswoman Molly Daniels says older Iowans are quite interested in education and health care issues, too.In 1996, over 60 percent of the participants in Iowa’s Caucuses were 45 or older. Mary Rose Brown of Iowa Falls, associate state coordinator for AARP’s get-out-the-vote effort, says older Iowans will play a key role in selecting the next president.The survey questioned four-hundred voters age 50 and above — all of whom are members of A-A-R-P.
