While temperatures are starting to heat up in the Midwest, an economic survey shows a cooling the economy of the region. Creighton economist Ernie Goss.says Federal interest rate hikes appear to be causing some slowdown in Iowa and the eighth other states he surveys. But Goss says the economy is still growing at a “pretty good clip.” Goss says Iowa dropped about 11 points in the index he uses to track each state. He says even with that drop, Iowa’s economy is still moving forward.He says Iowa’s is still growing at a pace that’s better than May of last year. Goss says he expects one more interest rate hike this year.
