At least two-hundred Iowa Army National Guard members -MAY- be heading for the Persian Gulf at some point this year. Iowa Guard spokesman Colonel Robert King says two infantry units have been tapped for a -POSSIBLE- mission in southwest Asia.Colonel King says the infantry units –or foot soldiers– are based in Dubuque and Denison. He says they may be called for duty that would help support other AIR guard units that are enforcing the no-fly zones over Iraq.King says it’s unclear just how many Iowans might be called up to take part in the mission, but says the deployment could involve more than one-hundred soldiers from each company. The Iowa Guard units are: Company A, 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry of Dubuque and Company C, 1st Battalion, 168th Infantry of Denison.
