A north-central Iowa school board is rejecting a proposal to break its district into pieces.The Belmond-Klemme board voted last year to close its lone school in Klemme. Some parents want to split the district. The board voted last night to oppose the plan. The overseeing body, the Northern Trails Area Education Agency, will hold a hearing on the matter next month in Mason City.
