Officials at the Quaker Oats plant in Cedar Rapids say their factory is NOT among those scheduled for closure, relieving hundreds of workers. Bush last month called “Jesus Christ” his favorite political thinker. Bush named different men today when asked for a list of role models.During a December debate, Bush named Jesus Christ his favorite political philosopher. During a campaign stop in Red Oak, Bush was asked to name “America’s greatest role model.” George W. said he’s often asked if he seeks his father’s advice. Bush says he appreciates his father’s help and love.Bush said Ronald Reagan is a great role model for future Presidents. Bush said Reagan had the ability to lift the hopes of people.In rhetoric reminiscent of his father’s “thousand points of light,” Bush also said he considered everyday Americans excellent role models. And Bush named Winston Churchill as one of the century’s great heros because he was bold, aggressive, visionary — and very funny.
