Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush started his weekend roll through Iowa in the southwest corner. As Bush prepares for Saturday’s face-to-face debate in Iowa with the five other republican presidential candidates, he made a Friday morning stop in Red Oak. Bush told the crowd of supporters to “get their caucus hats on” and warned against being over-confident. During a question-and-answer period, Bush was asked what he would do as President to reduce concentration in agriculture. Bush says the anti-trust laws need to be used to stop unfair pricing.Bush rival Gary Bauer yesterday called for tougher U-S policies toward China. Bush said he rejects anything that might close China off as a trading partner.The Bush campaign paid to have his speech in Red Oak broadcast “live” on radio station K-O-A-K. Bush makes a mid-morning stop in Glenwood, and an evening appearance in Des Moines is on his schedule.
