A Polk County Judge Wednesday threw out a state regulation that would’ve banned gamblers from using credit card machines to get cash to play at Iowa’s casinos. The State Racing and Gaming Commission passed the rule 3-2 in 1998 after a heated debate. The current commission chairman, Bill Hansen, was one of those to vote against the ban. Hansen said today he was pleased with the judge’s ruling, saying it vidicated his position. The three commission members that voted for the ban were replaced last year by Governor Vilsack.
