When the weather turns wicked, more Iowans are turning to their computers before venturing out in their vehicles. State Department of Transportation officials say they’re seeing more traffic on their website, which now includes another new feature to provide weather data.I-D-O-T spokesman Jerry Dickinson says the website now includes real-time data from 50 weather sensors along Iowa roadways and from 33 airports statewide. He says there’s a color-coded map of Iowa on which computer users can click the icons and get all sorts of information. Dickinson says a lot of Iowans are learning the advantages of logging on before taking off in their cars. The website address is: www.dot.state.ia.us
